Visual Source Safe Integration

I started building my Microsoft 2007 Access database under source control,
and I am always VERY CAREFUL to NOT remove it from source control when
closing it, as the "compact and repair feature" has been set to run at close.
In spite of my best efforts, the link between my database objects and VSS
gets lost from time to time. All of the VSS files still exist in the
[project name].scc directory for the database, but there appears to be no way
to re-link them. Visual SourceSafe won't let me do it, and there is no
option in Access. As a result, VSS integration is relatively useless.

This particular database is assigned a custom ribbon at startup, and the
problem seems to USUALLY (but not always) occur when I open the database as
an end user would, without the SHIFT key held down, and not in "development"
mode -- when the database opens with the custom ribbon. I can see where that
might cause a problem. Therefore, I'd like to see a feature added to the
SourceSafe tools that would enable a developer to relink their database to
existing files in the database's source control directory. Thank you.
