I have a workbook that contains 20 different tabs that is used t
setup a new partner in our computer system. On one tab the user i
entering in the zip code and I want to have 2 fields auto-populat
using the VLOOKUP function. I have it working properly, but the siz
of the file after adding in the table of information for the VLOOKU
is 5.56MB compared to just under 1MB without. The table basicall
needs 3 columns. Col A has the possible zip codes 00000 - 99999, Co
B & C have assigned values which are what I am retrieving. Fro
reading the many good responses from the pool of much talented Exce
users, I think my best option is to limit my list to the lowest valu
in my range and set the VLOOKUP to be TRUE. This way it will give m
the value that is less than or equal to the entered value

Am I thinking correctly on this or is there a much cleaner and faste
method? I can provide a sample if needed

Hi!

I think my best option is to limit my list to the lowest
value in my range and set the VLOOKUP to be TRUE. This
way it will give me the value that is less than or equal
to the entered value.

Am I thinking correctly on this or is there a much cleaner
and faster method? I can provide a sample if needed.

Yes, you are thinking correctly. Usually, that method is
ideal for lookups that fall into ranges but I don't know
how that can be applied in relation to zip codes. Do you
mean that you don't necessarily need evey zip code? What
is the return data of the lookup?

Thank you Biff for your response. In reading through some more of th
forum I found my answer. I just needed to set the Lookup to be TRU
since my zip codes are grouped in ranges
