VWNOTIFY: Which functions of this process?

Hello, All

As you are having known, there are several problems with vwnotify
process (high CPU usage, staying XML files in viewdrop directory etc.)
I have noticed that this process was stopped during several days.
And..... All seems work fine without it!!! Can anybody say which real
function of this process? Is it really needed for functionality?
