w97 Underline colours reverse themselves!

Need help!

I was sent a Word 97 Document with areas to edit underlined in Red. After
underlining the changes I made in Blue, I saved the document. On re-opening
it, the colours were reversed. i.e.. the original red is now blue, and so
on. How can I save the document as planned (original edits in red, new ones
in blue)?

Presumably the color is set By Author. Your edits appear in a different
color from the previous reviewer's.

The new edits appear in the colour of the author (red)
and the old edits switch from red to blue only after the
document has been saved

Yeah, By Author means Word randomly assigns a different color to each
reviewer when the doc is opened. Different people always have their own
color, but that color does not stay consistent.
