Wait Cursor Remains on Visio Drawing Control 2003

This happens after clicking 'Cancel' in a context dialog. e.g. right-click on
a shape and select 'Properties'. The Custom Properties Dialog Box is
displayed. Click 'Cancel'. The Custom Properties Dialog Box dissapears but
the Wait Cursor (hourglass) stays until the user clicks on the drawing.

Any idea how to stop this behavior?
