walls not cleaning up, area shape or add-in not calculating

running visio 2010 professional. It has always worked before, but all of a sudden, walls do not clean up. Area shape does not recalculate when size is changed and the perimeter/area add-in does not work. Have done a repair, checked that "enable automation events" is checked. Any other thoughts?
