want format cells alignment not format cells font style

I selected format cells and wanted to select alignment but my only choice was
font style. How can I get Excel to show the other options for format cells
i.e. border, alignment, etc.

Click on the spreadsheet. You haven't completed the prior operation. ed

You are still sitting within the cell. Click away from the cell and select
the cells you wish to format.
