Trying to change the old label definition to a new one could be
difficult. Ideally, your names and addresses should be in some type of
database so you can easily merge new labels and use a new label
definition. I would convert the labels you have into the correct
format so they can be used in a mail merge. Here's an article to help

It may seem like a lengthy process at first but it really isn't and
the time it will save you in the end will make it worth your efforts.
