want to install files of office in new puter

I have backed up files on microsoft works and having difficulty in opening
the disk to install in my new computer using microsoft office 2003.The disk
opens up the software but unable to see or retrieve files to install into
office wp and the spread sheet feature.Hope you can help don't understand why
this should be difficult for me as I am using microsoft software.

Exactly what files did you backup?
You can only backup and reinstall your data files, you cannot backup the
Works Application.
If backup of data files, depending how /with what you backed up simply copy
data files to eg My Documents, possibly a sub folder, eg Works.
If you used a cdr ensure files are read enabled.
