Want to type a list of items on the slide during the slide show

I would like to set up a portion of the slide to type the
answers to questions asked verbally during the slideshow
so all can see. Normally I would use a flip chart, but
will not have access.

There are a number of non-obvious ways to do this. One way to do it is to
use the text area in the control toolbox. This is a typable text area.

Another way to do this is with a VBA macro. See Example 6.7 on my Web site:

Click on "Examples by Chapter" and "Chapter 6" to get to the example.

If your presentation does not already include speaker notes you can
right-click your screen while in Slide Show mode (assuming you haven't
turned off that feature) and click "Speaker Notes". What you type is
specific to that slide. You can also click "Meeting Minder" if you have a
general comment for the whole thing (or want to assign an Outlook task to
someone).
