Want to use Office 2007/2008 on both Windows and Mac

I just built a new computer and I have a new licence for Office 2007 for
Windows. The EULA says I can install Office on a portable computer too.

However, my portable computer is a MacBook Pro. I looked at the EULA for
Office 2008 for Mac and it says the same thing -- that I can install a second
copy on a portable computer.

Does anyone know the appropriate party to contact at Microsoft to see if
they'll send me the media for the Mac version so I can install my second copy?

If you wish to install the Mac version of Microsoft Office,
you'll have to purchase the Mac version.

Office 2007 is for Vista /Windows operating systems on PCs.
Mac 2008 is for Apple Mac PCs only - two totally separate software programs.

You may install Office 2007 on Windows with Bootcamp software on your Intel
Mac machine and then purchase a copy of Office 2008 and install that on your
Mac OS (partition).

So you can have two separate Operating Systems (both Windows/Apple
partitions) and two complete separate Microsoft Office software programs
(one for each operating system) installed on your MacBookPro.

Both, separate Operating systems and separate Software programs.
Office 2007 for Windows XP and/or Vista in one Partition on Intel Mac
Office 2008 is Apple Mac in OS partition. Only this version is not VBA
compatible VBA has been removed - although I did read Microsoft Apple Mac
next version would have VBA reinstated.

This info is readily available. I use Intel Macs and run two operating
systems and different software both Apple Mac and Windows XP/Vista.

For official Microsoft licensing answers you'd need to contact the licensing folks through http://microsoft.com/licensing. The
discussion groups are generally peer support.

Your license is for a particular product and version. Office 2007 and Office 2008 are separate products and you'd purchase a
license for each.

Apart from the product license are system requirements.
Office 2007 requires either Windows XP or Windows Vista. As Jules mentioned you can get it to run in an emulator, but it's not a
listed configuration that MS tests. You may want to use the links below for the Office:mac discussion group for more details.

Office 2007 (for Windows) and Office 2008 (for Mac) are two different
products. Similar, compatible, yes, but still two different things.

If you want to install your additional instance of 2007 on the Mac, you
could do so if you have it set to dual boot or run a vitural Windows
machine.
But, you'll have to buy a Windows license to install on the Mac.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I did get through to someone at Microsoft
and I would have to purchase a separate licence to run Office for Mac.
Office for Mac cannot be considered the second installation for an existing
office for Windows installation. Microsoft's infrastructure and accounting
etc. is set up to consider the two versions to be separate products.

Re the booting of different OSs, thanks but my question above was not
technical in nature, I do have a computer background. I was asking about
licencing.
