A client has forwarded a document they converted to Word 2003 from
WordPerfect (I unfortunately don't know what version of WP). That original
file had a watermark (the word "draft"). When the document was converted,
the watermark is now completely embedded into the document. It is not a
watermark per se any longer, nor is it responsive to image or background
editing attempts. Clicking it merely moves the insertion point, although it
seems the "watermark" obscures the insertion point and highlighting, but NOT
text.
I've never encountered anything remotely similar to this. Any thoughts?
