Watermark

Hello All

I am using Word2000, and want to place a watermark, from a scanned image,
behind the text on all pages. I have pasted the image into the document's
header, but now I can't see it - either while still viewing the header, or
after closing the header and doing Print>Preview. I'm sure the image is
there, because I can select it in Header/Footer view (I get the little
handles) and I can format it - so I have set the layout to 'behind text' and
I have set the Picture>image control to Watermark.

Initially I could see the image while still viewing the header, but it was
stuck at the top of the page - and it had shunted all the text down below
it. I think I got round this after formating is 'behind text' and as a
watermark: but now I can't see it!

Hope someone can help - this is driving me nuts!

Many thanks in advance.

Hello Stefan

Thanks for your incredibly quick reply!

I have looked at the reference you gave, but unfortunately it didn't help,
because - by chance - I already had the various options set as suggested. Is
there anything else you can think of?

Thanks again

Did you make sure to anchor the image/watermark to the correct header? Note
that each Word section can have up to three different headers (and footers);
this is the case if you select "Different first page" as well as "Different
odd and even" in File | Page Setup.

It sounds as if the two likely possibilities are that (a) the watermark is
so pale that when it is further dimmed by viewing the document body, it is
just invisible (checking Print Preview would confirm this) and (b) the
watermark has somehow wandered off the page; if it can be selected at all,
its position could be set using Format | Picture | Layout | Advanced.
