WBS code definition

Hello!!

I am trying to create a WBS chart using the Visio WBS
Chart. I have figured out that I need to create a code
definition. When I open the WBS code definition I
select "numbers (ordered)" for layer1, and Uppercase
Letters (ordered) and say ok.
I then have added the WBS column to my layout, but this is
where I get confused, I try to change the WBS for the task
and it says it does not conform with the code established.
What am I doing wrong?
I appreciate any help, it is for a school project.
Thank you!

When you attempt to type a WBS code value for a task, what you type MUST
conform exactly to the definition you have set up for your custom WBS code.
For example, I have set up a custom WBS code using your definition
information, but I also set the Length value for Level 1 and Level 2 to "1"
(which means 1 character in length for each level). When I try to type a
WBS code as "23.AB", then I get the exact the error you state in your
question because the WBS code value I have typed does not conform to the
definition.

Take a look at the Length values you have set in your custom WBS definition,
and also at your Separator character for each level. I would suspect that
what you are typing does not conform to the definition in your custom WBS
code. Does this help you? Please let me know, as I'd like to see you "ace"
your school project!
