Web Access problem

M

Mark Lechner

After installing Windows Server 2003, SQL Server,
Analysis services, and Project Server 2003 to my laptop I
try to access Project Web Access thru the Administrators
account and get the following message:

Project server was unable to log you in at this time.
Please try again later (5006)

Any ideas on what may be wrong?

I have deinstalled and then reinstalled all products
multiple times.

Hi Mark,

Did you do the installation as per the instructions in the installation
guide?

Yes. I followed the installation guide step by step. If I
enter an incorrect password I get a message stating the
username/password is incorrect. It seems to me that I am
getting authenticated but something else is not running
properly (e.g., project server not running?) Does anyone
know where I can get a better description of the error -
5006?

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

Hmm, difficult one. I would suggest trying to reset the Administrators
password - and then trying to log in. You can reset the administrators
password, by opening up the MSP_WEB_RESOURCES table in the Projectserver
database in Enterprise manager. Then look for the "Administrator" account
in the "RES_NAME" collumn. Then scroll left until you see the
"WRES_PASSWORD" Collumn. Select ALL the data in the field and delete it.
This will reset the Administrators password to a blank password.

I'm having similar problems... Which user name/password combination am I
supposed to use? I've tried all three accounts created per the install
guide and is still get the 5002 error - You have entered an incorrect user
name/password combination.

I'm confused...

Now I'm feeling dumb... Turns out that the user name is 'administrator' (no
domain) and the password is one that I specified during the installation.
