% Work complete? Or any column that makes sense to be
editable. Is this controlled through the admin part of
Web Access or do I have to check out the project with MS
project and change something there?

It sounds like you want to use the % Work Complete method of tracking
progress for your projects. Is this the default method of tracking progress
for your organization, or is it your personal method for tracking your
projects and it differs from your company's method?

If it is the default method for tracking progress for your organization,
then this must be set by your Project Server administrator in Project Web
Access. If it is your personal method, you can set this for each of your
projects by doing the following:

1. Open each project
2. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields
3. Select "% Work Complete" as your method of tracking progress for this
project
4. Click OK
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
6. Click OK

Steps 5 and 6 will "push" your new method of tracking progress to each
user's timesheet for your project tasks. A couple of things you should
know:

-- Any tasks in which actual progress has already been entered using another
method of tracking progress will not be impacted by stes 5 and 6 above.

-- If your Project Server has locked the default method of tracking as
either of the two other available methods, then you will not be able to
change the method of tracking progress for your projects. Locking the
method of tracking progress would indicate that your company has established
a standard method of tracking progress across the enterprise.

Hope this helps.
