Web Browser Slow Response!

Hello,
I used Frontpage 2000 with MS SQL server 2000 to create my Database applications. After doing the appropriate database settings in FrontPage and then saved my project and finally when I click the "Preview in Web Browser", It takes a hell of a time but doesn't show the results. It stays static at one point and doesn't move a step from there. I waited more than a hour for get the result but was in vain, it still stays static. I even installed and reinstalled IIS 5 several times due to this problem. Did anyone come across a problem such as this? I really wish to have the solution for this, and will be thankfull for those who could help me out of this problem. Note Pls. that I've been using Windows 2000 professional OS's IIS 5.

Thanx,

Hifni.

fwiw:
i've had situations where a page won't come up on my local server (win xp
pro) but when published to the host it worked fine. it seems that if
there's too much going on in the page it chokes the local server.

Hi,
where's the sql server in relation to your web server? on the same machine,
your lan or out on the net? I'm thinking two things could be going wrong
here. Either your query is less than optimal (no offence :) or there's a
network bottleneck between web server and sql server.

First of all try connecting to your sql server with query analyzer type your
query in and hit F5 - how quick do you get the results? This should help us
start looking in the right direction.

Also if you have Norton antivirus installed I'd disable script blocking - it
can play havoc with ASP

Hello Jon Spivey,
Thanx a lot for your response. I went to Norton Antivirus and disabled 'Script Blocking' and BANG! all of my FrontPage applications began to work perfectly. There's no problem with Web Browser even. I kept this option disabled for couple of days to witness any further problems, but thankfully nothing came across. I did this cos, before solving this problem, once every frontpage applications illustrated in web Browser for couple of hours then again the problem camed and never did stoped since now. However there's no problem now. Thanx a lot man!

Answers to Previous Question: The MS SQL Server resides in an another Computer connected by LAN. Results from Query Analyser did come quickly.

You should not have to Disable Script blocking in NAV for FP to work
- IMHO that's a dangerous setting to run any system under
Sounds like you have / had something else blocking FP

Pretty much anyone that does any type of asp type stuff would need to
disable script blocking. It blocks scripts from gaining access to the local
file system, which a lot of asp apps need to do.

Have you cleared your mailbox or changed accounts again?
Last week we tried to send several important announcements that were blocked for mailbox over quota
