Web connection problem

What could change in FP 2002 to cause the program not to make connection with
my FrontPage enabled web server when I haven't changed any settings and I am
connected to the internet?
When I select Publish Web, the dialogue box Connect to www. with Username
and password appears but the url on the blue header is different to the URL
above the username (it is a different domain to one selected from the Publish
to: screen)and try as I might, I can't get it to connect. I enter the correct
data but it reappears with the same diaogue box. I can connect to my site
using Cute FTP. I have run the dtect and repair twoce and reinstalled the
program as well but theree is no change. Where can I reset the server log-on
data?

If you have used FTP to publish to your web, you have broken the FrontPage extensions and
therefore can no longer connect using the http://www address.

You need to have your host reinstall / repair the extensions. Then do *not* use ftp to
connect.

What could have happened:

The Front Page Publish function will usually associate a
particular URL, Username and Password with a particular
disk based web on your computer. Thus you do not have to
type all of this stuff in each time your publish.

Are you working on more than one website on your
computer? The reason I ask this is perhaps you somehow
got the other sites URL, Username and Password connected
with the site with which you are having difficulities.

Another possiblity, is someone else using your computer
and Front Page?

Look through your MyWebs folder.

What to do to correct your problem:

Now as far as changing it back to what you want: from
the "Publish to" dialog box, click on the Cancel button.
You should then be presented with a "Destination" dialog
that will allow you to browse to the proper URL.
