Web Presentation - unsupported Sound features - are there any workarounds?

Hello experts!

I guess I may be trying to do something that PowerPoint 2003 was not
designed to do, and would appreciate any suggestions as to possible
alternatives/workarounds.

I have a 3 slide presentation with a sound effect that was intended to
play seamlessly thoughout (It's a sound clip downloaded from Microsoft
and I believe it's small enough to be considered 'embedded', because
the sound does play...but only on the first slide once it's been
uploaded to the web)...it cuts off after that.

I was looking to showcase the full PowerPoint presentation on my web
site (in its original state, including the sound playing throughout),
and yet now I'm not so sure it can be done at all.

Then again, perhaps it still could still be done with the enhancement
of another program?

If any of you guys have any suggestions (even if it means preparing my
"slide show" in another program, I would be most grateful)!

Thanks again,

Karen

PPT can do this

Click on the sound icon
Goto custom animation
Drop down menu on media
select effect options

and > stop playing after xxx slides (where xxx is the number of slides in
the show)

Michael,

First of all may I call you a genius? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Your solution worked like the proverbial charm. (There's no way I
would have ever thought to go in and insert that bit of HTML into the
fullscreen file). What a fantastic solution!

Thanks again,
Karen

P.S. I've got your web site bookmarked...the tutorials are great...you
have a very nice voice by the way. :)

Hi John,

Thanks so much for your input. Yes, I had it set up as you suggested
and it worked fine on my local hard drive, but once it got uploaded to
my web site, the music would quit after just one slide. Michael
suggested that I open my web site and add one bit of html stuff
directly to the site itself and now the presentation runs well on both
my local and remote sites.

Thanks again for your help...I am so grateful that you guys are here!

Karen;

Glad everything worked out for you. Don't hesitate to come back again for a
visit or if you have a problem.

BTW, it was the voice that captured my wife some 50 years ago. <g>
