web publish does not work FP2003

when I atttempt to publish my website the connection dialogue with "usename &
password" and enter the proper information. the dialogue box imediately
returns - with no obvious attempt to connect. no error meassages are
returned. gotta be somethiing simple.

Which method are you using to publish, http:// or ftp://?? If http:// check
with your host and make sure the FrontPage Extensions are installed for your
domain.
