Web Search component in FP 2003

Steve Windhaus

I have installed a web search component for our web site.
However, when retrieving results they include other items
like web site traffic reports that are supposed to be
available for viewing by my web hosting company and me.
Instead, the public can view those files. Secondly, when
hitting the reset button, nothing happens. The results
from the previous search remain on that page, and the most
recent search term remains in the box. How do I solve
these problems?

This occurs because when you index a folder tree, you
index the whole tree. To avoid this:

o Organize all the content you want the search to
find into a separate subweb, and then search that
subweb.
o Move the content you don't want the search to find
elsewhere (not in the same folder tree).
o Program your own Search page on ASP or ASP.NET.

And by design the reset button in the search bot restores the last search parameter entered
