Web site design

Harold

I have recently taken control of a website that was designed using html. I am
using FrontPage 2002. The selection buttons on the left of each page are gifs
and I don't know how to insert new buttons as I need two or three other
buttons to link to pages. My site is www.firstcity.net/cochraneuc Maybe
someone could look at the site and see what I'm referring to. The buttons on
the top left of each page. Thanks

The buttons were created using some sort of image program. That's how you
would need to create new ones. They were not done in FP.

Hi Harold.....

The way the buttons are bunched together it would be pretty easy to just use
a table and plain text links... it would look almost identical as the button
graphics really don't do anything special and it really just looks like a
big blue box. (not a criticism mind you.. just an observation)

Insert a one cell and how ever many rows you need table. In table properties
take the border size to zero.

Change the background of each cell to a similar blue color. Click in the
cell, right click, choose cell properties.

You will probably need to go to page properties and change the various link
colors to colors that will show up under the blue background.

Enter the text that for the link......
Create the hyperlink

Understand.... you will have to play with placing it, etc but this would be
a quick way to get about the same effect that is already there and not have
to fool with creating the graphics.

Probably a dumb idea.... but just trying to help.

Best to you.........

Copy one of the images to an image editor and create a new one
- or replace all the buttons w/ your own images
