Web Update office 2000

Hi,

Since a couple of a days I try to update computer running MS Office 2000
thru web Update like I always did before and though I click on the Check for
updates link in the upper right corner, IE keeps loading the same page again
and again. I haven't seen any mention whether or not Office 2000 was still
support so I assume it still. Is there anything wrong with that site? Am I
the only one who's having that problem?

Thru another post here, I could find another but similar Office download site
which has the right "check for updates" link with the padlock! So it looks
like there is two MS office download site! Humm!

Office updates are now done through Microsoft Update. There is no more
Office Update.

But not for Office 2000. The OP needs to use Microsoft Downloads.

Problem is that after downloading the sr1a small file, and you go to download
the sr1a itself, it fails. All it says is to contact Microsoft. I did so
and essentially was told there is not help and to go back to the same web
site that fails.

I've searched all over and can not find the solution. I have used Office
2000 for a long time and do not wish to go out and buy another. I had to
replace my hard drive and now I am stranded.

Help please!

The small file doesn't work.... and the large file that you need is no longer
available from Microsoft. If you do a google search for O2KSR1aDL.exe
download, you can find some sites that still have it. It works just fine as I
just used it.

Thanks very much. Now I have a copy that I can keep, instead on relying on
MS to keep it on line.
