Website is just about done!!!

Beyon

Thanks DavidF for all of your help. I have switched back to using Pub2000 for
web design and keep Pub2002 for newsletter design. I may actually get paid
soon now that the site is up and running. I did find out today that the
on-line application wont work because the server host cant enable formmail
for me. They say I would need to be using a unix system instead of windows to
use formmail.
Anyway,
Thanks again....
GREAT SITE!!!

Beyon,

You can choose to use FPSE for your form processing OR you can choose to use
a form program provided by your host. In your case, if you want to use
"Formail", then right click the Submit button and in the form properties
dialog for your form select the option to use "an ISP Program" and then
input the server path and name of the form program. You don't need a UNIX
host...

Beyon,

You are aware when they say you "need to be using a unix system instead
of windows to use formmail." they are talking about your server, not
your home computer.

Also, formmail is known as a security risk because of the way it
processes input.

Mike,

Aren't all forms a bit of a security risk? I've read that FPSE are, and I
remember googling the one you use, and reading about it having some sort of
security risk too (can't remember the details).

My host also provides FormMail...on a Windows server, and I would presume
that they wouldn't if they didn't feel the risk was manageable. Besides, if
Beyon can get that one working, he/she won't have to worry about using HTTP
uploading protocol.

David,

Most forms that rely on cgi to work probably do have some security
risks. I've used Formmail myself, a few years ago but apparently because
it is more widely used, there are more known hackers exploiting it.

One should be able to use a Perl or PHP mail script without fear, AFAIK.
