website transfer

I need to move some web sites from one server to another. Is it possible to
do it with FP2003? Where can I transfer each website to at the new server
before DNS change?

If you know the IP address of the new server site you can publish from the old server (w/ the DNS) to the new server w/ the FP SE
installed on both by using the new IP address (http://xx.xx.xx.xx) as the remote web site location

You can publish FP subwebs as http://xx.xx.xx.xx/subwebname1/ , etc. if your host allows subwebs and publishing to subwebs (some
don't)
- but your ~accountname and ~username do not appear to be valid subwebs
Only way to find out is try it by opening your rootweb (File Open Site http://xx.xx.xx.xx/) and try creating your subwebs (say
~accountname) in Tools Server Admin

NOTE: publishing will not create unique permissions for each - do that in Tools Server Admin

| Thanks.
| Do I publish to all webs to (http://xx.xx.xx.xx) or
| (http://xx.xx.xx.xx/~accountname) or (http://xx.xx.xx.xx/~username) for each
| web I need to publish?
