website won't work

Could someone help! I have been using publisher 98 to publish my website
without any problems all the pictures load ok and all the links work fine.

I ungraded to publisher 2003 the homepage works fine But when you click on
the link to the index page you just get a blank white page with the page
number on the bottom information bar.

i have read through all the information on the subject and know it might
have something to do with framing.

What i don't understand is why it all works fine on publisher 98, and all
works well when you preview the site before publishing useing IE 6 ON
PUBLISHER 2003., but then the problems start after i have uploaded the site.

I thought if i was going to have the framing problem i would have had it
with publisher 98.

Please could someone have a look at the site and see if you think it is a
framing issue or if it is something else(

Yes, your site is being framed and you might not be able to work around that
with Pub 2003. It uses a different coding engine than Pub 98, and you might
be smart to just go back to Pub 98 for your web work...you can have both
installed on your computer.

You might double check your link from your home page to the second page. You
might write an absolute link instead of a relative link. Publish to the Web
to a folder on your hard drive so you can study and determine the exact
names of your other *.*htm or *.*html files. You might try not using a
subfolder...or using one if you aren't. You will find this under Tools >
Options > Web tab and while you are there untick "rely on VML..." and "allow
PNG...".

You might contact your webhost and ask them if they have a workaround for
the framing issue. A poster in the past was given some script that they were
able to insert into their site using "insert HTML code fragment" that solved
the problem for them...maybe your webhost would have a solution.

You might rethink the loud and alienating muzac on your home page...tis
going to turn off a lot of people.

Many thanks for your help david, i will contact my service provider and see
if there is a code that i can put in to correct the problem, if not i think i
will try frontpage to design the site.

As for the music, i do agree with you it is far too loud and a turn off and
has now been removed.
Once again Thank you for your help

You are welcome. Switching to FrontPage should be the best decision in the
long run, but you should also get away from the framing issue too. From what
I understand, it just isn't a recommended practice anymore, and you can get
paid hosting for <$5 a month...

If you are a bit short of cash, try NVU. http://www.nvu.com/index.php

Chuck,

Interesting program...I'll have to try it out in all my free time ;-)

Do you know if you can import Publisher HTML into that program? Most seem to
say that you can't import satisfactorily to FrontPage, so I am curious.
