Weird formatting on inserted rows

B

Bahookie

Hi there
we've got a massive spreadsheet here which has had a couple of rows
inserted. When trying to do a simple SUM of some rows in a column, those
values in the inserted rows are missed out.

When I try to apply number formatting to the cells they are left aligned
(everything else is right aligned) and are still not included. I have tried
formatting the cells alone and as part of the whole column, same result.

I have also tried cutting and pasting, special, values into "clean" bits of
the sheet, but the formatting goes with them.

Arg!

Help? Ta!

Hi Jane,

Your cells are text and formatting afterwards doesn't help.

Format an empty cell as number. Enter the number 1 in it. Edit>Copy.
Select your "numbers". Edit>Paste Special, check Multiply
