what a mess this is.....

this ribbon thing is such a bad idea..

some twisted mind must have thought of this setup.. the more I see it the
more I hate it...

their original goal was to make features in office more prominent because
they were all hidden...
but this is not a solution!

and if they want the ribbon so much why didnt they put it in outlook too?
So they have 2 ways of doing things? Twisted mind I tell you.

Simplicity is hard to achieve.. and they just made it non intuative as can
be!

Oh I will adapt in minutes.. its not about me I am worried about.. but about
the millions of users that will
get office 2007 run it and .... gasp...........take it back to the store!!!
get a refundddd!!!!!

Obviously, simplicity escapes you. The ribbon is in Outlook when you reply,
it's not needed when you just read. I suggest you dump MS and go Linux, then
you can have all the more non-intuative options you can handle. It took me
a couple of minutes to get used to the new ribbon in Word and frankly I like
it. It's not perfect but nothing is. I'll bet the millions of people will
find it easier to work with than you can so your a lone voice screaming in
the wilderness. <shrug> Fer christ sakes it's a beta, 8 mths before it goes
final, a lot can change up til then.

Oh great! thats even worse! 2 Guis in the SAME app! lol

Seems to me you will be the only person who likes this thing....left alone
in the darkness..
holding in your clutches tightly the only package of office 2007 ever sold
on the planet!

There are many professionals who use Office every day..
Lets make a survey and ask THEM what they think!

Its seems that its you who must dump ms and work with Linux since you like
non intuitive
strange ways of doing simple things....

Hi John,

Be sure to use the 2007 MS Office feedback tool (send-a-smile/frown) to send feedback directly to Microsoft. The link to download
it is below.

You can also participate in the discussions on the User Interface (UI) for the 2007 Office version and the Office UI Team blog at
http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh
There is quite a bit of information there on how and why decisions were made on what went into the ribbon design and which apps have
it.

Is their anything that you DO like about Office 2007? This mornign I have
read a lot of posts from you bashing the UI, usability, Microsofts Business
practices etc. etc. If you are so disapointed in it then simply do not use
it!

WHAT do you hate about the ribbon? It is very functional, intuitive, AND
looks good.

Personally, as a professional, I like the new GUI and it only took me a few
minutes to figure out. Have you tried clicking on the
Circle-with-the-Office-logo in the upper left corner? That has most of the
old 'File' menu in it. (It took me a little while to find it ;-)

The ribbon is way too big. I want to be able to customize the tool bars so I
can get them as simple and as small as possible once I learn where everything
is.
