What can cause autofilter to lock-up my spreadsheet?

I have a spreadsheet with several tabs, and autofilter seems to be locking up
a couple of my spreadsheets, especially after creating formulas that are
linked to another tab in the same spreadsheet.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
