What causes macros to move from another template to normal.dot?

I created some special macros in a special template. I have only edited the
macros in the template. This template is in the winword\template folder.
I opened a cocument based on the normal template and the macros were in there.
How could this happen? Does anyone know?

It cannot happen by itself - and it's hard to see how they could end up in a
random document somewhere; the most likely explanation is that you
mistakenly edited them somewhere other than you thought you did, it's easily
done. If, however, you are simply saying the macros were available, rather
than actually in another document, then something is making your template
global - what is your StartUp folder set to?
