What controls what is viewable via Open from Server?

I've recently been thrown into our Project server implementation and haven't
had time to get up to speed yet. My question is when a user is opens
Project Pro and connects to the project server they have an a list of
projects they can see. It's been setup so that only project managers can
see the projects they are working on. My question is how is this done? If
by multiple methods could you list them? I have a new user that needs
access to existing projects and haven't a clue where to start.

Thanks in advance,
Bryan Kent

Each of your project managers is a member of the Project Managers group.
Members of the Project Mangers have access to the projects specified in the
My Projects and My Organization categories, which allow each project manager
access to only his/her own projects. Hope this helps.

Where are the "My Projects" and "My Organization categories" exactly?
Somewhere on the Project Server web interface?

Bryan -

In Project Web Access, under the Admin tab, click on Manage Security.
On the action pane on the left, under "Security Options" you will see
Categories. Since you have been thrown into this role, I recommend
that you take a look at the Administering an Enterprise PMO book by
Dale Howard and Gary Chefetz and, also, of course, the Microsoft online
books (but Dale's book is easier to understand).

If you are one of the Project Server administrators, log into PWA with
administrator permissions and then click Admin - Manage security. If you
are not a Project Server administrator, you can't see the Categories. Hope
this helps.
