What do I do if I can't activate microsoft office 2007?

I first downloaded microsoft office 2007 from someone else and when tryed to
activate it a pop up come up saying the product key is already being used so
I bought microsoft office 2007. I still could not activate it by internet or
by phone. I taking off the microsoft office 2007 to see if I could activate
the one I just bought, but now I have nothing. Do I need to redownload it or
what should I do?

Uninstall it using Windows Add/Remove Programs (in the Control Panel) and
re-download it.
