For United States, Yahoo Mail Plus is required unless you find an
alternate solution.

You are a paid up member of yahoo plus right? Or are you using yahoo.co.uk
as your email account? If you have yahoo.com account then you must pay for
pop3 otherwise you will struggle using yahoopops tool. I don't recommend
that tool at all.
