What do these errors mean?

In Microsoft Office 2003 Professional SP 2:

I keep getting a "Microsoft Office Publisher (or Frontpage) has encountered
a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience." when
the program is closed after working on a locally stored document. Never
while working, though.

The corresponding error notes in Even Viewer (Application) read as:

Faulting application mspub.exe, version 11.0.8103.0, stamp 44dd2714,
faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2945, stamp 44ab9a84, debug?
0, fault address 0x00012a5b.

The EV links always come up with "There is no additional information about
this issue ....." or something similar.

These errors always occur for these two applications, so far. The above
three are only some of several. All Event IDs 1000 0r 1001.

MS KB did list several 1000 and 1001 error instances but none matched my
situation, AFAICS.

While this may or may not be related, I also sometimes get these Application
Error messages:

FRONTPG.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception
(0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at

Regards and thanks in advance for any insights.
