HControl Error Message at start up of pc

Dear Sir or Madam,

For several weeks everytime I start up my pc the error message indicated in
the above subject box pops up advising me of the possibility of losing data
I'm currently working on.

I would like to know exactly what HControl is and its function as it relates
to my Windows XP Home Edition package.

I would also like to know if perhaps this error message could be related to
a virus my pc may contain. I use Norton Antivirus and update at every start
up.

Any assistance you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Kimberly

HControl Error Message at start up of pc

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the quick reply. For the most part I would say that my
"multifunction" keyboard is working properly. I've recently experienced
problems opening Word files directly by double clicking on them. The program
opens, but the document does not, which means, I have to repeat the opening
process. This does not always happen however.

Another strange thing that has popped up recently when downloading hotmail
attachments is I have to hold down the "control" button and then click on
"download" to beging the downloading process. In the past I only had to click
on "download" to begin the downloading process.

I've visited several sites on the Google search you indicated and am
beginning to feel that perhaps I need to re-install HControl using my
original ASUS installation cd-roms.

If you get the feeling that I'm a computer novice you're absolutely right.
I've never really taken the time to study programs I don't need to use on a
daily basis, which is something I'm slowly trying to correct.

Thanks again and have a very nice day.

Kimberly

The interesting changes could be caused by the Anti virus software
trying to scan the opening file. And the "ctrl" button requirement could
be caused by a popup blocker being active. I don't use hotmail so that
could be some security feature to prevent auto downloading of malicious
content.
