What does emailing in PDF format mean?

I have been asked to send invoices to my customers in PDF format. Does
anyone know what this means or how I do it>

Do you have the Acrobat reader on your computer? Have you used it? It opens PDF
documents, that is what a PDF is...
There are many free PDF converters around, some folks have recommended

When you email your customers, click the paper clip (attachment), browse to your
newly created PDF.
