what does office2003-kb907417sfxcab-ENU.exe do?

Hi;

We are running into maore and more companies where their security
settings won't let them run a .exe - and we need the hotfix in
office2003-kb907417sfxcab-ENU.exe

What does that do? We can then write a .msi program to do the same
thing. Or is there a .msi equivilent?

An easy way to find out the answer by yourself:

Use process monitor to attach to the exe and log its behaviors in the file
system and registry.

In addition, you may look at this thread:

Yep - that was me - we're hitting more and more problems from
customers who have strong security settings and the MS provided
hotfixes won't run because of that.

I really wish MS would follow it's own guidelines on this stuff...
