what doesn't media player 11 work correctly?

i have downloaded windows media player 11 for windows xp from the microsoft
website and it was validated for my computer, but it keeps giving me a error
message when i try to use it.
it says its missing a file.
what is wrong? how do i fix it?
please let me know how to fix this problem via my email, [email protected]
