I'm in a Word 2003 course and none of the answers to this question seem right
to me:
What element of the Word program window can be used to check the tab
settings applied to text?
A. Formatting toolbar
B. Standard toolbar
C Receal Formatting task pane
D. Styles and Formatting task pane
I check the horizontal ruler and Format/Tabs ...am I missing something? Can
anyone verify that A, B, C, or D is correct?
Thanks!

Reveal Formatting would show you where your tabs are set and you could also
click on Format | Tabs and see where your tabs are set. In theory, you could
also see your tab settings if you modify the style.

Can't you ask your tutor if you're on a course?

There are many different ways to do most things in Word. There is nothing
wrong with using the ruler or Format > Tabs but what you're missing, and
what your course is trying to teach you, is that there are also other ways
of seeing the same information, in this case in a slightly different
context.

I'm sure most people who answer questions here can tell you which answer is
correct but you would learn a lot more by looking at each of the options
yourself - one of them will show you the tabs you have set.

You could select the text and then look at the ruler or go to Format tabs and
it should reveal it as well as the reveal formatting option.
