What happened to B drive?

How is this question related to Access, the database component of Office?

Anyway, back when computers had 2 floppy disks, they were called A: and B:.
If you add a second drive to the floppy controller, it will be assigned B:.
But I believe that today, floppy controllers provide a single channel, and
newer systems come without floppy controllers - you add a floppy drive via
USB.

Much more information needed.

Back in the day the B drive was often a 3 1/2" or 5 1/4" floppy disk.
However I have a 1GB flash drive that creates a B drive when connected to the
USB port. That's because it's possible to boot from the flash drive!

It isn't, and I'm not sure how my message got posted to this board -I had
originally posted the question in the general catagory. But thanks for the
response.
Appreciatively,
Arlene

Jerry,
Thanks for the response. I really needed it for research for a course I am
taking in accounting information systems and the question was thrown out as
part of a discussion round. I had no idea that there was a B drive so your
response has added to my information base.
Thanks
Arlene
