What is _vti_cnf ??

Hi all,

I'm new to FP 2000. It does not appear within the FP application itself
but if I navigate to the location of my FP Web files on my hard disk I
see that many of the folders contain an additional folder called
_vti_cnf, which seems to house duplicate files to the folder one level
up. What is this folder all about, can I delete it, and do I have to
upload it in order for my Website to function properly?

Thanks.

Thanks for that, but can I delete these files? I've been refusing to
upload them and my webpage still works fine.

Thanks again.

Do NOT delete these files.

You will notice that the files in this folder have the same names as files
on your website that use components that the Server Extensions use. These
files are the configuration files that tell the Server Extensions what to do
on the page. If you delete them, you will break your pages. If you have
already done this, go to Tools\Recalculate Web and they should be rebuilt
for you.
