Yes and no.
A PowerPoint presentation can contain a huge variety of information types.
Pictures is just one of them. So, a picture essay can be done with
PowerPoint, but so can charts, graphs, quotes, lyrics, diagrams, flow
charts, movies, bulleted lists, web sites, games, testing, teaching (in
short anything to do with telling or showing).
However, more important is what does the teacher feel a Auto-Photographic
essay is? An essay is a story, so telling a story with pictures seems to be
in order. But you need to ask some questions about the assignment. Does
he/she mean ...
.... pictures of you growing up?
An Autobiographical photo essay
.... pictures that advance by themselves?
An Automated photo essay.
.... Pictures of cars?
An Auto photo essay.
In all likelihood the teacher mean the middle one, but I would ask to make
sure.
