A PDF file stands for "Portable Document Format". It is the type of file
read by Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader (
www.adobe.com/acrobat). You can
create a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat Print drivers or any of a number of
other drivers such as Win2PDF (
www.daneprairie.com), pdfFactory
(
www.fineprint.com), cutePDF and many more. What a PDF file allows is that
your document is converted to a format which is independent of the
applicatoin and of the operating system and it can be read by a PDF reader
on almost any platform.
