When I start up my powerpoint i get an Active X error message. When I try to
open up a presentation it says that ActiveX cannot open this document.

That usually means that some sort of code is trying to be run and your macro
security is set to HIGH and it can't run it. Or you might have some sort of
add-in trying to load. Click the "Tools" menu, select "Add-ins" and see if
there are any. If there are and you don't need them, disable them. Or you
can set your macro security to MEDIUM (Tools", "Macro", "Security").

Thanks Mr. Foley your suggestion worked for the powerpoint application. Now
I get a message when trying to open a document:"powerpoint can't read "The
Glory of a Symphonic2.ppt". Is there a way to get this document open so that
I can make changes and save it again?
