What is automatic column sizing on Other Seettings

In O2003, View/Arrange By/Current View/Define Views, when modifying a
view and clicking on "Other settings", what is "automatic column
sizing"?

Try right clicking on the wording automatic column sizing
and it gives you an explanation.

Thanks but no luck. There is no question mark for help and cannot
find automatic column sizing in help.

automatic column sizing = Sizes the columns so they fit on
screen. If you want to scroll to display columns that
don't fit on the screen, clear the automatic column sizing
check box.
