What is the purpose for the above and how about doing
it ??
.
Whenever you open a plan in a read/write mode, it is
checked out. This means that nobody else can open the
project except in a read-only mode.

Resources are also checked in and out.

plans and resources are checked back in when the plan is
saved.

Projects are also checked out when they are saved offline.

The administrator can check projects back in when errors
occur.

Only one person can be making changes to a project plan at one time. The
checkout feature is handled automatically by the system and prevents two
people from making conflicting changes to the plan concurrently. Similarly,
in order to change static resource information such as name, logon, hourly
rates, and the like, the system automatically protects against the same
potential updating conflict by applying a checkout state to the resource.

Checking out a project plan for editing does not also checkout the resources
contained in the plan. Everyone in the system can work with the same
resources in their plans at the same time.
