What is email functionality included with vista home basic

I just purchased a PC with Vista Home Basic. The promotional material says
that it includes access to the internet (IE) and email. When I tried to
access the email, I am taken to an Outlook 2007 window where I'm invited to
buy it. It says that if I don't register after 25 times the functionality
will be reduced. What is the reduced functionality?

Apparently your PC has the trial version of Office 2007 installed. You
don't need to use Outlook if all you want is email. There should be a
"Windows Mail" button on the Start. Use that. You'll have to configure an
email account to do so, of course.
