What is icon that pops up when pasting link?

I've been dealing with this ever since I got my new Office years ago. If I am
in IE and I cut a URL and paste it into an email, I get a weird looking icon
instead of the blue link that I'm used to. I've tried emailing it to myself
and clicking on it and the icon symbol does nothing.

My workaround is to simply cit and past the url into the email a second time
and I don't get the funky symbol, I get the actual URL. I hit <CR> and it
becomes my beloved blue link.

Curiousity is gting the best of me... WHat the heck is that symbol supposed
to be or do?

Is the symbol a little square with what looks like a squashed clipboard (or
a satchel, if you ask me) on it? And when you hover the mouse cursor over it
does a little yellow tag say "Paste Options"?

I ran the cursor over it and no words pop up. It has a green arrow that
points upward. On the right side of the box is a yellow circle with a
blackrectangle inside.

Here is a simple way to recreate my question...

Go to the top of your IE screen and select the entire URL.
Right click the mouse and select "Cut". (The entire URL should be gone.)

Go to Outlook & open a new meesage.
Right click the mouse and select "Paste".

Mystery Icon pops up....

Ah so. Well I can't help you here because I avoid Outlook like the plague.

Try one of the Outlook newsgroups. microsoft.public.outlook.general looks
like a good candidate.
