what is metamail?

What does it mean, to reinstall metamail for it to function properly with new
version of Outlook ? How do I make this annoying reminder disappear? I
recently installed the Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition. I was
using Microsoft Outlook Express before. Thank You for your help.
