What is "Synchronizing Headers" in Outlook?

Hi,

I am using Outlook 2003 and I have two questions:
1. What exactly happens when Outlook is synchronizing headers?
2. The synchronization can take 4-5 minutes. Is that normal?

Synchronising Headers means Outlook is doing a Send/Receive. When you also
connect to Hotmail it can indeed sometimes take up to 4-5 minutes. Note that
when you schedule an automatic send/receive with an interval less than how
long it takes to perform a send/receive you'll end up with a Send/Receive
que Outlook can never catch up with.
